One of the most obvious observations in our digital-technology age is that there is great spiritual danger lurking around every corner. A Christian can easily, even innocently stumble onto a website or chat-room or Facebook page that ultimately leads to a destination called “Sin.” It happens every day, thousands of times. For this reason, every Christian must be vigilant in the use of digital technology. If you are concerned for personal holiness, passivity in the area of technological use is not an option. You must be aware of the dangers, girded with spiritual armor, and more zealous for personal purity than the passing pleasures of sin. You must be vigilant or you are sure to be a victim, as well.
With that said, digital technology is not inherently evil. It may be dangerous, but it is not evil. It can be redeemed for the glory of God. Just as the Protestant Reformation was significantly aided and advanced by the printing press, believers today can be greatly helped by the Christian resources found on the Internet. Personally, the Lord has used many on-line resources to strengthen my knowledge of Him and love for Him. Over the years I have downloaded and listened to hundreds of sermons, lectures, and panel discussions of leading pastors and scholars. I have read excellent articles and blogs by regular, everyday Christians who blessed my soul in the most profound ways. I have been both affirmed and instructed in my biblical exegesis of Bible passages as I checked with leading commentators. I could go on and on. But what I want to do now is simply give you a short list of websites that have helped me. I trust that they will bless you, as well.
